Several ESS EXPO.09 sessions will feature Excellence Award winners who will discuss case studies that show how their organizations successfully used EH&S automated tools to drive new efficiencies and achieve their sustainability goals. In addition, one award winner will be recognized as the "Best of the Best," for implementing strategies that deliver the greatest proven benefit to their organization and its stakeholders.
Established in 2006, the ESS Excellence Awards recognize public and private organizations for their use of information technology to reduce risks and costs associated with EH&S and crisis management. Hundreds of organizations including representatives from the petrochemical, mining and manufacturing sectors, as well as government agencies, universities and public utilities, have submitted entries for award consideration.
"ESS is pleased to recognize these outstanding organizations for demonstrating how addressing key business challenges — including greenhouse gas/carbon management, environmental compliance, health and safety management, crisis management and corporate responsibility reporting — can generate significant business benefits that have bottom-line impact," said Robert Johnson, ESS President and CEO.
