TEMPE, Ariz. – September 11, 2009 – ESS, the leading provider of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) and Crisis Management software for sustainability and compliance, today announced that it has completed an agreement with industry leader OSIsoft.

Under terms of the agreement, ESS will leverage the OSIsoft® PI System® and combine it with Essential Suite®, enabling OSIsoft users to quickly leverage their existing investments to meet greenhouse gas (GHG)/carbon, corporate responsibility and environmental compliance commitments.

ESS will present the combined Essential Suite/OSIsoft solution at ESS EXPO.09, the premier user conference dedicated to EH&S and Crisis Management issues, which will be held October 4-8 at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio.

Efficient execution of complex environmental regulations and voluntary directives require organizations to implement automated tools that streamline collection and processing of large volumes of real-time process data. Thousands of organizations currently use OSIsoft technology to track energy consumption, process parameters and measured emissions outputs. With the combined ESS solution, organizations can quickly extend the value of their OSIsoft PI Systems to meet their compliance and sustainability goals.

Essential Suite and OSIsoft technologies work well together because they are both designed to address the complex data management needs of customers in industry sectors such as energy, petrochemicals, manufacturing, mining and utilities.

"Businesses need to be prepared for regulatory changes that could significantly impact their operations.  That's why it's important for OSIsoft customers to be aware that there are automated tools available to help with these changes.  They can leverage existing IT investments to quickly execute GHG/carbon management strategies and improve environmental management performance," said J. Patrick Kennedy, founder and CEO of OSIsoft.

"Our partnership with OSIsoft is continued evidence of our commitment to interoperability with our customers' existing systems.  Managing sustainability requires data from corporate business systems and plant level operational systems. ESS does both better than any other sustainability solution provider," said Robert Johnson, ESS President and CEO.
