Global Industry Leaders Presenting at ESS Conference on Enabling Software Technologies to Achieve Sustainability

TEMPE, Ariz. - March 7, 2008 - ESS, the leading provider of Environmental, Health and Safety and Crisis Management software for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), today announced that ESS EXPO.08, the industry's premier conference dedicated to enabling software technologies for environmental stewardship and corporate sustainability, will bring together responsible executives from around the world to present how their organizations are using ESS' enterprise sustainability software platform to reach corporate sustainability goals.

EXPO.08's presentations and industry leaders include: Sustainability and Multi-Generational Planning (Dow Chemical); Managing Risk Across the Enterprise (Koppers); Making ESS the Foundation for Sustainable Development (PetroChina); Global Commitment to Sustainable EHS performance (Alcoa); Launching a Sustainability Program (Duke Energy); Foundations of Sustainability (Microsoft); and Preparing for a Pandemic (SAIC).  Other important topics include REACH initiatives, ISO 14001 standards, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The keynote address, Foundations for Sustainability, will be given by Simon Jacobson, Senior Research Analyst for AMR Research.  AMR's ongoing research brings to light specific steps companies can take to further integrate sustainability and compliance efforts into their businesses.

EXPO.08, which will take place April 13-17 in Phoenix, will feature more than 50 conference sessions.  Sessions include critical business challenges such as compliance reporting, greenhouse gas management, stakeholder reporting, worker health and safety and emergency response.

"Today, leading organizations regard sustainability as a critical objective within their overall business strategy," said Robert Johnson, ESS President and CEO. "In this competitive business environment, catastrophic events, product recalls and environmental non-compliance all pose unacceptable risks to business operations and brand image, especially in the eyes of today's socially conscious consumer. Companies are responding by placing renewed emphasis on social responsibility and sustainability — that is, the ability to protect the environment, the health and safety of their employees and the continuity of their business operations — while simultaneously pursuing profitable growth and consistent performance. These converging priorities have elevated the need and role for enabling technologies to execute against corporate sustainability initiatives."

ESS EXPO.08 includes hands-on software technology exhibitions, with ESS partners Microsoft, IBM, ERM, CH2MHill, URS, DS&S, Trinity Consultants, Chem Advisor and EDSG. For additional information about ESS EXPO.08, visit www.ess-expo.com.
