Environmental Support Solutions was incorporated in August of 1993 with a software product that organized and automated new EPA-imposed regulatory recordkeeping requirements for ozone-depleting chemicals, such as those used in heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air-conditioning. The company quickly established market dominance in the refrigerant management niche.
By 1999, the company was operating under a scalable business model that led to a series of carefully planned strategic acquisitions designed to strengthen our product portfolio and enable the organization to expand into complementary disciplines. Among those acquisitions were Wixel, Inc., and RMS Systems, Inc., in 2001, and Essential Technologies and Jordan Systems, Inc., in 2002.
The parent company has now merged the best elements of these holdings into one cohesive corporate entity – ESS.
